University of California Davis and Sacramento State University joins the Pacific Western Rugby Conference

San Jose, CA July 8th, 2014: The Pacific Western Rugby Conference has confirmed that the teams from University of California, Davis and Sacramento State University will join the conference for the upcoming 2014-2015 season. “With addition of Stanford last year and now two more competitive universities, the conference competition will be that much stronger without putting pressure on travel costs” stated by James Fonda, commissioner of the conference. “The travel expense has become a burden on these universities while good competition was here along. It now allows them to use these financial resources to help their programs more efficiently.”
Adam Macrae Head Coach of Sacramento State expressed, “We are very excited being accepted into the Pacific Western and we are looking forward a tough competition.” Seve Woods, president of UC Davis Rugby Club is also excited by joining the Pacific Western Rugby Conference. He states, “ UC Davis Aggie Rugby is thrilled to join the conference. We believe our commitment to rugby excellence and academic excellence is a perfect fit for this conference. We are eager to join the competitive atmosphere that this conference affords us.”
